Ford Motor Company plans to release 12 new plug-in hybrids in the next four years. It's off to a great start as the 2017 Ford Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid now achieves an EPA-estimated range of 610 miles. That's a significant jump from last year's model, which delivered 550 miles.
So how does it work? “Plug-in hybrids are electric vehicles until you run down the battery,” said said Wade Jackson, marketing manager for Ford Fusion, “then they work exactly like a conventional hybrid. Fusion Energi – with a full battery and a full tank of gas – can go from San Diego, through Los Angeles and all the way up to San Francisco, and still have up to 110 miles of range remaining.”
We've recently welcomed the incredibly efficient Ford Fusion Energi to our showroom and would love to help you get behind the wheel for a test drive. Come visit our Shell Rock, Iowa showroom when you're ready to do so.
