The modern diesel engine is no longer the smog spewing emissions monster. Today's diesel trucks and cars are highly tuned, efficient machines that often require highly refined oil. How do you choose which type of oil, synthetic or conventional, for your diesel?

Because a diesel engine uses compression for ignition, engine tolerances are quite low. An engine that is at all gummed up will have trouble initially firing and with the diesel being less refined than unleaded gasoline diesel engines can be prone to carbon build-up. This makes synthetic oil a natural choice for modern diesel engines because they have been specifically formulated to clean better than conventional oil. Synthetic oil is also more durable than conventional oil, making it able to withstand the increased compression and strain caused by a diesel engine.

If you drive a diesel vehicle, whether it's a truck or a car, bring it down to our dealership and we can help you get the right type of oil to keep your engine running strong.
