One of the most crucial parts of any car is its brakes. A vehicle's brakes are responsible for bringing a vehicle to a safe stop and doing so reliably. This helps to ensure the safety of other vehicles on the road as well as your own. However, like any mechanical component, the brakes are subject to wear and damage over time and require occasional inspections and repairs in order to keep them working reliably.
It's important to have your brakes inspected on an annual basis as well as every 12,000 miles driven. However, in some cases, your brakes can be damaged or worn out before then, in which case there are a few red flags you should keep an eye out for:
- The brake warning light is on.
- A squealing or grinding sound when applying the brakes.
- Going further than the recommended mileage between exchanging brake fluid.
If you think you may need your brakes serviced or inspected, pay us a visit at Roling Ford as soon as possible so you can be back on the road safely.
